Also- I've just noticed, "Real-Time Virus protection" keeps disabling itself. Could this be the problem?

Most people here are saying that McAfee crashed their computer or something similar, but I just wanted to say that McAfee is a great security centre in my opinion, and I haven't had any problems with it at all, it's been fantastic at protecting my computer.
To answer your question, I suggest you contact McAfee and tell them about the problem. The best way to do that is to post your problem here: http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/index.php
This forum has help about everything connected with McAfee. Just click on the security centre section (whichever one you are using, the 2007 one or the 2006 one), and type your problem on there. McAfee will help you!
Good luck! I hope this helped.

i do no longer comprehend what you have achieved so a techniques... yet right this is what might desire to have been achieved: look on the icon on the backside precise nook of your demonstrate screen (i'm assuming this McAfee additionally has its very own firewall) turn off the firewall, and permit MS firewall to change on... next, turn off the secure practices middle. Then to flow upload do away with classes, and choose this methodology.... do away with it... thoroughly. if that function isn't available interior the upload rem classes, flow to start > classes > your classes... see if theirs an uninstall function outfitted in to this methodology (regularly, if there is, it is going to have been right away accessed, from the upload-rem progs). while this methodology has been uninstalled, close the gadget down (do no longer restart) enable is desperate for extra or less 30 seconds to a minute, then turn it decrease back on (theoretically, this helps the RAM to totally sparkling out), once you restart, use residing house windows explorer to flow to the documents, and delete all of them manually. i exploit gadget mechanic to even wipe the registry of the classes (reg purifier does a good activity too!) i do no longer comprehend what antiviral prog you're thinking over McAfee, (Norton sucks purely as undesirable) and workstation Cillin (aka Inernet secure practices 2007) is a huge!!! application, yet in addition great/great application is AVG, that's from Germany, and that's nonetheless unfastened to persons (companies might desire to pay), you will get it from their internet site, do a seek for Grisoft (it is the business company who makes it) wish this helps! McAfee is extremely tempermental. I would leave it alone or get a new security system. McAfee has crashed my computer at least three times, so I would recommend back ingup all your files on an external hard drive.

You need to subscribe to McAfee in order to fix the problem.
So just ignore the message.
You can download Microsoft Windows Defender from their website and get the firewall on.
Also if you have BT or Telewest broadband then you can download their own anti-virus & firewall software for free.

I would not use McAfee
Try going here http://www.filehippo.com/ and downloading Zone Alarm or AVG (we use both)
