i do not posess any formal qualification. what is the best way forward for a foreigner like me. i have a life long desire to learn proper english.

Most local colleges will do access courses but they do require a certain degree of english language, so you may need to address that first. Depending on your age there are alot of english courses out. If you are between 16-19 you can contact Connexions and also the local job centre or college may be able to pint you in the right direction for any English courses. See which ones would be free to you first. The local Adult Education centre also does courses and if you are on benefits a lot of course are free or much cheaper. Good Luck.

contact your local college, they will be able to assess what course is most suitable for you - english for speakers of other languages or a literacy qualification. these courses are free and get lots of funding so they'll be happy to help x
