Because light from the sun (which starts out as a combination of all the colors in the rainbow) hits the earths atmosphere and gets scattered, like when you shine a light into a prism. Different colors of light travel at different speeds so depending on what the angle of the sun is (what time it is) You'll see a certain color, blue during most of the day and at night as the light bends even more, reds, oranges, pinks and yellows.

Because blue is the least refracted colour of the spectrum. The other colours of the suns white light get dispersed by the atmospere so the sky appears to be blue even though it's really black.

Because of the nitrogen in the atmosphere, which filters out all but the blue light reaching the earth.
