I've just been watching 'The Simple Life' (I was really bored), and it got me wondering...

Just think about it:
If all that wealth and influence had been given to someone else, they could have used it to do something wonderful. They might have been a brilliant scholar who challenged people's minds and studied obscure and brilliant things. They might have been a campaigner, drawing the world's attention to important international causes. They could even have used their money to help people who were suffering - they wouldn't even have to do it on TV!

But no. It all went to Paris Hilton - the most pointless, vain, self-absorbed idiot on the planet.

I knw that there are a million things that can challenge a belief in a benevolent God, but I have to say, if I were a devout Christian or something, I'd be asking this:

"O Lord, why did you create Paris Hilton, when there is ALREADY so much suffering in the world?"

Your thoughts, please.

You assume that due to what is largely public opinion, that any existant god is automatically benevolent. But if there were a god, just about everything points to the contrary, including Paris Hilton. For those who wish to point out the devil as the driving force behind Paris' adventures, keep in mind that God would have had to create the devil which still implicates God as the true source of evil. There's no way around that one.

It's simple my friend, this life is a big test, hence the fact of it being quite short and limited ! Now, God can test you with wealth as well as poverty, he can make you the prettiest person but he can also make you the opposite of that !! You're role in all this is also simple, if you are wealthy and powerful what path would you choose ? the righteous path in helping people and making the world a better place, or use it to oppress and control people all in a greedy and self centred manner ?
So basically to summarise, Paris Hilton could be the next Satan on earth or a mother Theresa figure, it's all up to her !
My friend if you embrace this concept of life your life will change for ever, jut like mine changed, I have been given many talents in this life and I could have used them for self success and glory but I decided to used them to good ends and I know I will have my reward in this life and the hereafter inshAllah !

Salam !

I understand your question. And there is an answer. It is in a book by Dostoevsky "Crime and Punishment". There is a very fine balance in this world, as you probably have noticed before. The amount of people (if I can put it that way) of doing good and spread good around are the same as of people.. like Paris Hilton. There is Bill Gates and people like him who move this world forward and care about the world more then of themselves. And there is a need of people like Paris, believe me! - at least for teaching your kids what they shouldn't become one day and how important the education and reading right books is.

I'm a christian and I would really have to say that God put her on the earth to show us that the world really needs help and we could reach out and help those in need. I really can't stand Paris Hilton. She is self-centered and conceited. I wish she didn't exsist sometimes, but it helps me realize how I shouldn't be and I should help people. Hope this is what your looking for.

Because there's a devil. You never see the behind scenes. She's really probably 63, takes 4 hours to put on her makeup and her teeth sleep in a jar at night.

And, she probably owes more money to more people than the Queen has jewels in the crown she doesn't own and can't wear except on state occasions.

Paris Hilton: Here today--Gone today. Tomorrow, someone new.

There isn't a leper or a quadriplegic anywhere in the world i feel more sorry for that PH. She is one sad example of life on this planet. She might have tones of money, but from where I sit, that is ALL she has, and what will she do when it's all gone???? But I won't be contributing anything towards her or her source of money.

Quite simply, because there isn't. Benevolent or otherwise. It is primitive humankind (us) that create these abominations (obscene concentrations of wealth etc.) ourselves.

We can stop tomorrow, now even. There's not one good piece of evidence that suggests we couldn't get rid of all that stuff tomorrow. But we just sit around and tolerate it's continuation.
