They kept releasing the same games over and over and over again. People just got bored of them. Then nintendo came out and everybody forgot about atari. That's sort of what happened to Sega.

those idiots let 3rd party game makers make crappy games without having to go through atari to get approval of their games. Also, they made more games than consoles making them go bankrupt.

Because something better came along- like Nintendo, and what happend to Nintendo? Something better came out. Just how it goes....
