There are a lot of ways to make money at your age. I started a paper route at the age of 13 and made roughly $100 a month, plus tips and bonuses, and it took just a half hour of my day six days a week. You can't get official jobs until you are 16, but you can work as a "contractor", doing anything.

The best way to earn money are through doing odd jobs like babysitting, tutoring, housework, yard work, anything you are good at. I made money doing all of the above, and also fixing peoples' computers. Find something you are good at and that people need.

---

However, I want to caution you. Why do you want this extra money? Why do you want to go shopping? What do you mean by "some serious shopping"?

Spending a lot of money on shopping is NOT a good thing to do. It's very important that you learn early on to discipline yourself, to save money for your future, and to not buy things that you don't need.

There are ways that you can make money go a long way. One of them is by shopping at thrift stores and the goodwill. Another of them is by buying basic, simple, practical clothing. The "hottest new clothes" go in and out of style every year. They are also very overpriced. When you buy this sort of stuff it is just wasting your money and helping someone else get rich. Instead, just buy what you need, don't buy too much.

My advice to you is to try to find ways to earn money, but to not waste it on things that you do not need. Open a savings account if you don't have one, and start saving and earning interest on your money. I never worked full time, and I was still able to save up over $10,000 before college. You can do this too. If you have $10K in the bank at 5%, you will make $500 every year without working at all!

Good luck!

Ha! 13 years old and asking people how to make money! How advanced kids are these days. I don't even think I knew what money was at 13, but I applaud you.

With the internet, there are lots of ways you can earn money online. It would require you start a blog. Start talking about something you are really interested in and try to update it as often as you can. There are places like mybloglog.com, digg.com, stumbleupon.com, myspace.com and many other social networks where you can list your blog as it starts to gain information. People who also enjoy the same thing will begin to visit and read what you have to say. Once you begin to pick up readers, you can start to sell advertising on your site. It's very easy with companies like http://www.linkworth.com, http://www.google.com/adsense and other ad networks. Just make sure you read the terms and check for age requirements. 13 is a bit young and might not pass some terms.

It might sound like a lot, but there are blogs like www.techcrunch.com that went from brand new to over 18 million visitors in less than 1 year.

If this doesn't sound interesting, try babysitting, doing chores for your parents or neighbors, or even getting a part time job at a place that younger people can work for.

Good luck!

More than easy
Make most 1000 dollars a week.

Make jumbo chocolate covered strawberries with nuts on a Popsicle stick. At the mall they are 5$ a chocolate covered strawberry, sell 30 a day each one is 2$ and you will make 60$ a day if you sell all of them. And in a week you will make 420$.
and a month 2,520$
a year 30,240$ damn you could by a house. Sell like 60 a day
and in a year 60,480$.

First off someone your age needs to not have a major shopping habits if you can't afford to pay for things. Plus you should be saving money not spending it as fast as you get it. Financial habits you develop now are the ones you will have as an adult. You can only get an allowance since you're not old enough to work a job so you'll have to wait until you're 16 to work a job.

Two separate savings accounts. One is my personal account, and the other is a joint account with my fiance. It's our wedding fund. It's gonna hurt to drop all that money all at once! The rest of my extra money I end up blowing on crap I don't need. I have clothes in my closet with the tag still on!

I think that the standard answer would be babysitting, but there are other things that you can do, weed a flower bed, walk a dog, pet sit, clean windows. make up fliers and pass them out advertising that you are looking for small jobs to help you make some spending money and then follow through

Ok I have something for you!!! How creative are you??? Why don't find some cool fashion design equipment and start creating one of a kinds for your friends for a reasonable price. Learn how to do hair or nails I used to do it at 16 and I made some nice money for my pockets at that age. Create purses, jewelry, clothing or anything that is fun that you can make money from.

You should join http://www.moneymakers.pdnr.com and http://www.creativecash.pdnr.com to make money online. There are no upfront costs, and the sites are legit. I have received many checks from them before. You earn money by completing surveys, and trying free trials, suck as Netflix. Get a few friends to sign up as you referrals and you can earn even more, plus a $1 bonus on one of the sites. I've made as much as $75 a day! Try it out!
