Can't you just ask your friends or relatives where they got theirs?

I live in Jacksonville, Florida and we have a Herp Society that will soon be celebrating it's 20th anniversary. We maintain a Reptile Rescue, and exotics are adopted out to members only. It is our strict policy that no animal winds up in a pet store. Your friends and relatives can probably tell you about the reptile community in your area. Become active in that, and volunteer at your local animal shelter. These are the contacts you need to make to start rescueing abused reptiles, and unfortunately there are alot of them out there!!! I applaud your desire to help and I wish you the best of luck!!

I unquestionably have various reptiles and ...even theory i know we aren't meant to play favorites... my Bearded Dragon is my fashionable :) it rather is the character. No different reptiles that I unquestionably have considered have the laid back, friendly temperaments of beardies. They do take in basic terms a sprint paintings, yet particularly not what i might evaluate a lot. they desire particularly expert lighting fixtures that's not needed for snakes. while they are youthful they consume a lot. If it is an argument in basic terms get an person. while they are grown they they only desire protein some cases a week and something of the time you may in basic terms feed them salads. In my journey it rather is not too not undemanding to discover somebody seem in on the a beardie as quickly as an afternoon in case you bypass on holiday or some thing, unquestionably much less complicated than a snake for my area, anybody is ordinarily much less probable to be terrified of a Beardie than a snake and there are not any mice/rats to handle feeding to the Beardie! while typhoon Sandy hit my skill replaced into out for a week and a 0.5 a different to by way of puppy keep that had skill took him in and he adjusted nice to being in somebody else's care in a clean place and on no account gave them any undertaking.

one good place to start is to contact your local herpeticultural society they take in animals and nurse them back to health to adopt out to people, the few in my area have a questionnaire you have to fill out prior to adopting and they usually have you bring in proof of a adequate enclosure. the society i used charged a menial fee for adoption but i was sooo happy with my pet that i made a sizable donation to their society (non-profit org) i am actually a member of that society too now.
best of luck
even if you arent able to get a reptile through them (they might not have one avail) they are a great resource for ALL herp questions and husbandry issues
