it's logical to assume that the universe has an edge that is expanding outward. during the "big bang", a huge mass of compressed matter "exploded" or was forced outward in all directions and when that matter runs out of energy to use up, the universe will (theoretically) cease to expand and begin to contract again to begin the cycle all over again. however, the universe just as easily might not be expanding and we just think it is because what we can see is expanding... think of it this way, the universe has expanded to it's full potential, but we haven't seen it yet because of how long it takes light to reach Earth; when we look at the stars, we are looking back thousands of years in the past... and the further things are from us, the further back it goes; the edge of the universe is expanding because of this: because more and more light from further and further away reaches us every second, more and more of the universe reaches us every second...

No. But it depends upon what mean as universe.
It struck me that the nabobs answering your question are of the belief that the universe is the big bang.
I would submit that there a difference between the big bang, which is for want of brevity the creation of matter as opposed to all that there is.
Does the afore-stated make sense to you?
What was before the big bang, nothing? And, is nothing something?
Clearly, the matter created by the big bang is finite.
Just as clearly, before the bang there exists something.
However, as for your question mankind does not possess enough knowledge to answer it, period. Said does not mean that there is not an answer, simply that we are not knowledgeable enough to answer it today.

It's said that the Universe is infinite...goes on and on and is ever expanding. How do we know this? I don't have a clue.
But that's the kind of thing you sit around in your dorm room your Freshman year of college after smoking a joint. It's virtually impossible to wrap your head around.
It's like trying to figure out how Omarosa has a career.

Bentherdonthat it comes into a solar wall some thing like china or east berlin where they try to keep the other side I venture to the other side and it is real sick the inhabitants of that universe are so sickning they dull the luster of their own stars.

We have a boundary as to how far we can see. The most accepted theories have the universe not only expanding, but accelerating.
It isn't infinite - but it is expected to grow continuously.

The universe is a finite entity that one day did not exist and one day will go out of existence.

It does have an end both is space and possibly in time.
Like a black hole there is a point where light and space itself are bent back by gravity.
