Could be one of several reasons. One reason would be that drinking a lot of alcohol acts as a diuretic, that is, makes you expel water from your system.
When you flush water from your system, you also flush out electrolytes which play a major role in the health of the body. If you're low on potassium, it will cause your legs to ache.
I suspect this is what's going on. You may have an unbalanced diet to start with and then what stores of potassium your body has is flushed out due to a night of heavy drinking.
Apart from giving up drinking, you might consider eating potassium rich foods or taking a potassium supplement. It won't hurt you. Bananas are rich in potassium as well as some beans. The potassium supplements shouldn't be more than a pound or two for 60 to a 100 tablets. They aren't hard on your stomach and you should be able to tell within a day or so after taking these, if that's the problem.

Quit drinking?? LOL Uh, if you are experiencing a hangover, this would make sense as a hangover really just means that you are dehydrated. Drink gatorade to replenish electrolytes and fluids. A couple of bananas might help too. I always try to drink 1 cup of bottled water after each alcoholic drink before starting next drink to avoid becoming dehydrated.

Becacuse the alcohol is a diuretic, you get depleted amounts of salts and sugars in your body. The Potassium is increased in the concentration and you will feel cramps. If you wish to avoid the leg aches either 1. Give up drinking to excess. 2. Have more soft drinks between alcoholic drinks. 3. buy me a drink!

I don't' know for sure. However, alcohol depresses Anti-diuretic hormone produced in the pituitary gland. This causes large amounts of urine production when drinking. Most of the adverse effects or "hangover" symptoms are related to dehydration. This can also effect serum electrolytes, causing muscle cramps and such.

What can you do? Not drink. How can you help it stop? Time. Welcome to the world of powerdrinking! The ultimate price you pay for one night of fun is to spend all the next day feeling like ****. Just call into work, grab a giant jug of water, pop some aspirin, hit the couch and start swearing you will never do it again, till next weekend.
