I'm trying to contact a guy on myspace who has his set to private - but when I go to send him a message, it says 'The feature you are trying to access is unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience!'

So does this mean the site's just messing up, or can I really not contact him? If not, how can I? Sorry, total n00b at this. ;D

Thank you all for the answers, but I got a few yes's and a few no's - I don't know who is right. Is this question in the myspace FAQ or somewhere?

You can't contact him, not unless he permits you to do so, that what a private account does.

The thing with MySpace is it does have a lot of problems so what u are getting is just a minor issue,..it always does that.
Simply refresh your page or try again later.
You will have to be accepted as a his friend before u can see his page.

it's the site, it be acting up all the time. Just cause its private doesn't mean you can't contact him unless he is underage and your over 18, then you can't contact him. But you should be able to send him a message. Try it again later..the site is just acting up bad lately

what a n00b? anyway, it's the site, not the color of your hair.
