There are four types of karmas, parabhd, sanchit, kiryaman and agam, for example, you have some storage of food that is sanchit karmas, you are going to realize some fruits are your parabdh karmas, the karmas you are realizing now are your kriyaman karmas, and the seeds you are sowing now are your agam karmas. The theory of karmas is so complex that an ordinary person can never understand. The thing is that you will have to reap so as you sow. It might take billions of birth but you will have to reap what you sow. some fruits are realized by you in this birth only some in other births. So in fact you are the maker or destroyer of your destiny. There are five bodies of a person i.e Annamaya kosha (physical body), Pranamaya kosha (vital body), Manomaya kosha( conscious body), Vijnanamaya kosha(super conscious body) and Anandamaya kosha (cosmic body). The astral body is the place where we store our karmas. and we feel the consequenses by our senses mainly light, smell, sound, sensation, taste. Many religion says that doing this or that is good, but the religions are man made and they might be incorrect, Do your best to serve the nature and the nature will give you her best. Tit for Tat. There are many examples to hold the sayings true, just for example Krishna in his previous birth as Rama killed Bali while hiding and Krishna was killed by an arrow while he was resting. In modern world we are taking out the fuel ( petrol, diesel etc.) from the womb of mother Earth so we are also paying back in case you ask how, are we not giving the blood for medical test, where does it go, back to mother earth. Therefore, without streching my answer, I shall say that we are the maker of our own destiny.

Our destinies are influenced by our actions, decisions and planning, so do we create our destinies. By inaction, hesitancy, and procrastination, do we change the course of our destinies!
Having a worthwhile goal; and a plan that enables one to reach that goal is part of that definition of "destiny"

Sure , we can be the master of our own destinies and the captain of our fate, or we can lose that edge of control and fall victim to our own weaknesses. We are the image of our creator, which makes us co-creators, that's if we make the right choices and pursue the right type of mind-set in order for these things to become a reality in our lives. One of the greatest beauties of life is when you find your inner strength and wear it throughout the rest of your life. keep it pimpin soldierette!!!!!!!

No, 'destiny' is just effects stemming from the first cause. All further causes and effects are casually determined by the original cause.

This is not a psychological question, this is a philosophical one.

We can take our lives only so far by work and desire, the rest involves other people, and sometimes whole societies. Do you think that the men who played in the negro leagues ( baseball) could have worked hard enough not to be discriminated against? Talent and ambition can take you to the top of your potential but nothing else

If they're 'destinies', we don't make them, they're destined. We make our own lives. There is no destiny.
