y=mx+b is the form you need to use. m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. Here the slope is 5 and the y-intercept is -4.

y=5x-4

Likewise,

y= (-3/4)x+8

the equation for a line is y = mx +b
m= slope
b = y intercept

so y = 5x +(-4) or y=5x+4

and y=(-3/4)x +8
