I've always noticed a difference in the quality of the color from my screen to paper, but I just hooked up a new printer and the difference is huge. The pictures are printing out so much lighter than they should be and they quality of it is ruined. I tried printing the photo out on normal paper a few different ways, but it didn't change it at all. The printer came with my computer, its a Dell 725. Is there anything I can do to fix the color? The ink cartridge is new, I tried cleaning the nozzel, but so far, nothing has helped, so...help!?

Always the colours on the screen don't match the colores on the paper it depends on the monitor what settings you have given to it also the printer settings the type of paper and so on. In many cases there is a little difference but in ones there is a big so you have to manage the sittings of the monitor and the printer to be as close as possible. You can do that only with probes. Sorry that you have that problem i have the same but there is a very small difference. Have a nice day!!!

This is because your printer basically does an interpretation of the color you've chosen to print. Your monitor's color can vary greatly just by turning up/down the brightness or contrast. The printer cannot interpret 100% of these kind of adjustments. This difference is a gamma difference. Some years ago, I had a monitor that came with a utility that would allow gamma correcty by holding a color card up to the screen and adjusting various monitor / video card controls to match the card as closely as possible. Check with both the manufacturer of your monitor and your video card to see if there is such a utility for your hardware.

1 simple thing i can think is don't use widows imaging software to print. I've used windows with a plug in camera and software that came with printer and colors do vary with software.

Other would be to get a non free printer head out and find a printer of higher caliber. I'm using a brother mfc - 210c to print pictures and when set to right printer settings for photo printing they come close to what i see on the screen and the colors are individual so you can see if inks are running low.

I just found your printer on amazon and the ratings aren't pretty (1 out of 5)

So check what software your using and search for alternative printer.

Hope this helps you ;)

You probably put the ink in the wrong places, or there is a manufacturing problem.
