it has some bad points ofcourse but nothing fatal or even of too much signifigance that it should be illegal

cigarettes are more dangerous and have killed more people

to me it's not bad for you, now tobacco is very bad for you, the gov likes to perpetuate marijuana as a very bad drug that can harm you but in reality the only thing that can **** you up is the short term memory, probably slowed motor skills, and something else, but marijuana is a medicinal HERB, it's actually Good for you unlike cigarettes which can KILL you

Too much of anything is not good for you even water.

Now that being said I do not think that it is as bad as some of the "legal" drugs that kill US citizens daily.

More people die in America due to smoking related and drinking related illness then they do by smoking cannibas.

We need only look at cancer, diabetes, stroke and heart attacks , obesity etc.

Eating too much fat and sugar will kill you long before pot does.

I think that is the main reason above all else.

Until the government can find away to control it , we will not see it legalized.

It may however become decriminalized, so that smoking and possessing it for personal use may not destroy your life.

Dude that's a pretty lame excuse and if you went to an arguement with that one people would eat you alive. People who smoke cigarettes have live long lives too, but just not all of them. Okay so pot has a LOT of positive advantages and SOME negative, which either side people might argue. I think it has to do with the quality of the product and the amount put into your body. Smoke is smoke, ya know; however I agree with you talking about government control. It's a big problem here in the USA.

If you are at the legal age to smoke legal product and you purchase it with hard earned money, and you still bust your *** doing all the day to day duties in life, why the f*** shouldn't you toke up?

First of all, Tommy Chong was actually born in 1938. Your assessment of his age is waaaaay off.

The problem is that pot is illegal. That's all.

The reason that pot is illegal has nothing to do with marijuana. It actually has to do with the fact that it is a cousin to hemp. If memory serves, I believe the cotton farmers were afraid that hemp would replace cotton as the plant of choice for making fabric. It (and as a hazard, marijuana) was outlawed.

No, the silliness that is Reefer Madnes is a joke. Pot is not something that in that sense is bad for you. It isn't addictive, although behaviours associated with pot can be addictive and if you eat it, it is actually quite medicinal. Here in Canada you can get a Doctor's note to self-medicate with marijuana. It has fabulous medicinal properties.

Smoking it on the other hand is bad for you. Not because it is marijuana but because burning anything creates toxins and carbon monoxide that are toxic. Of the few people I know who do medicate using marijuana, two smoke it in addition to the other ways of ingesting it, but they also smoke cigarettes, the other one doesn't smoke anything.

2) the government and corporate drug companies would not be able to monopolize the market on marijuana and because of the rocky relationship the us has with many marijuana-producing nations.

obviously, it's not about our best interests because tobacco and alcohol are legal and multi-billion dollar industries, and all research has shown that prohibiting things does nothing but make it unsafe and put more non-violent offenders in prison (which is also a corporate/government business...)

I'm not a smoker, but I believe that if alcohol and cigarettes are legal then why not weed.

alcohol is why worse then weed. To me. You never hear about any high (on weed) drivers killing anyone but you hear about drunk drivers killing people all the time.

So personally I believe it should be legal.

I don't know of any scientific proof that it is bad. It has a positive effect on people I know.
