There are a few factors:

1. Level of testosterone - generally more testosterone = more body and facial hair.

2. Hereditary - hairy father....

3. Race - Europeans and some from places like Turkey, Iran, Russia etc tend to have more body hair whilst people with an African or Asian lineage tend to have less body hair.

4. Geography - colder areas, the more a little bit of extra hair might come in handy!

Genetics, male pattern baldness is carried on the mother's side. Not the fathers. So look at your mother's relatives and it should give you some idea of what your outcome is.
