First of all, looks are not everything. I have known a lot of guys that maybe were not the best looking guy physically that I had ever seen, but as I got to know them they became more attractive because of the kind of person they are.
Second, to answer your question, the best thing to do is just tell him you are flattered but you are not interested in him in "that" way. It will probably hurt his feelings a little bit, rejection is never fun, but it is much kinder to just tell him honestly that you are only interested in him as a friend, than it is to just let him go on thinking he has a chance with you.

I'm having that problem right now. I like this girl very much but I don't think she likes me the way I like her. I've told her to be honest with me but she keeps dancing around the issue. And that hurts my feelings more than anything.. Tell him how you feel. Yes it will sting at first, But if you don't say anything then that is going to build up his hope. And when you eventually tell him (you will have to at some time) he will be devastated. So tell him now while it's just a sting and not a knife thrust...

first of all is the only reason you dont like him because of his looks? if so thats wrong and your not good enough for him
second of all if you honestly truly dont like him you just have no connection whatsoever then just tell him cause nothing hurts more then being lead on by someone just to find out by a different person that you guys never had a chance

if u dont like him and still letting him to hang on to you...u r doin worse than u think u r not....atleast tell him the fact that u dont c him in the same light as he does....do it politely so he gets the message that u dont feel the same way for him!!! the longer u dont ,more hooked up he will be on to u.....coz when he gets to know at the point of no return he will be in more worse condition than what he will be in now...if u put end to it now...just at the beginning before he gets involved deeply...u wud be doin him favor tellin him to stop ryt there and not to get further emotionally involved with u!!
