If it was switched on at the time the bulb crashing would have blown the fuse in the plug, replace with a new 2 or 3 amp and all should be well.

First make sure the new bulb is not faulty, try another to be sure. if it still doesnt work try change the fuse in the plug. it may have blown when the lamp fell. If that fails it could be a loose wire in the plug that came loose when it fell.. Also make sure there is not a loose wire going into the bulb reciever head..

First check that the new bulb ( lamp ) is OK. Test fuse in plug replace if faulty, still not working? test switch and flex still not working? get a new table lamp!

plug it out and inspect it , see if the live and neutral are making contact with the bulb, make sure the bulb u got works and it might also be the fuse in the plug top, it might of blown when it broke, if all this fails get a new lamp

first off 240v is dangerous so take care but most likely the fuse has blown , or a wire has come loose, lastly the switch may be kaput, if its a 'standard' type wilko stock that sort of thing, with luck the replacement will only be a few pence

could be the switch.
with a new bulb in, try "jiggle" the switch and see if the light comes on or at least flickers.
Otherwise take the switch to the hardware store and buy another just like it and replace it (less then $5.00 I'm guessing) and that should help.

I would just buy a new one.
I bought one from Asda for a fiver and it's ace.
You may have a dodgy connection and is it worth risking a short and a fire just for a lamp?.
Good luck.

If it was on as it fell, the fuse might have blown.

Think it might be a lose connection or the fuse.

Hand it to someone and say "Please fix this for me." You don't need the aggravation right now.
