Get legal advice first..

You will need to run an ad in your local paper about your intentions to file for divorce and so he can have a chance to respond. Then after the waiting period, go to your cities' county courthouse. Go to the law library usually located on the bottom floor, ask the front desk attendant where to find the divorce documents you will need such as: decree, testimony, petition, etc. They will probably make you make copies of them so bring change for the copy machine. You will need to follow the directions carefully and fill the paper work out correctly. And let me tell you, no one working in the courthouse will give you advice (since they're not lawyers and they can't provide legal advice), so read those directions thoroughly! You will then take your paper work up to the county clerk and depending on how much your county charges to file, you will need to make that payment in cash to the clerk at the time you file. You will get copies and further directions, you will then have to wait I believe 60 days before you can appear in court, (by yourself) your ex doesn't need to be with you. It's pretty easy. Do the divorce as a missing spouse one. The problem will be with the due process of law in getting him served his legal papers. You may have to file a notice with the area newspapers in hopes he sees it and responds to at least the court date. If not the judge will automatically award you the divorce and everything you filed for. Again the problem will be if any money is due from him youll have a hard time collecting til he is found. Good luck

You can find self divorce kits in stationary stores, and book stores all over the nation. If you have many assets, I would advise getting a lawyer, but if it's pretty simple and straight, the paperwork in the kits is easy to understand, and doesn't cost much, around 30bucks. Good luck.

Well, one, maybe if your missing your husband you should put in a missing persons report, well that is unless hes been gone for years.
File for a devorce with your lawyer, have it posted in the paper of the county o his last known residence and if he doesnt respond in thrity days, youll be awarded the devorce, no signature required, ask your lawyer for further details.

I know you will need to run an ad in to local publications of your intention to divorce this person since you have no idea where he is. I believe they have to run for 2 weeks (might want to check that out). That you can take with you when you file the paperwork. That is how my sister did hers.
