Transparent materials allow you to see through them and they let in light... like water or a normal window

Translucent materials allow you to partially see through them (it would be distorted) and they allow light in... like etched glass, a foggy mirror, or mirky/dirty water.

Opaque materials do not allow light through them or you to see throught them... like a wooden door, clothes, or a cardboard box.
