My husband is a Jerk!!! He took the hard drive out of my PC which I found very rude and unrespectful. He's suspiciuos that I'm cheating on him with some guys online because I've spent a lot of time on my PC. I have to admit that I spend a lot of time on my PC but only to do my work and entertaining. I don't do no chating or seeking for some other guys. So, my question is can my husband tracks down any infos that I've been through on the internet of off my PC? I don't keep track of the web sites I was on because my PC cleared up the history every time I'm online. I don't worry about what he'll find because it'll be nothing. Just curious.

If your husband is ripping out the hard drive on your computer because he doesn't trust you, you have some serious problems. Either he's a nutcase, or you've been a bad girl. Either way, not good for the marriage. The other posters have properly indicated how to find/hide your tracks, but perhaps you should have been asking for information on divorce lawyers.

Yes, the information can be tracked..........unfortunately.........it's stored in C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files, or Cookies, or History. These files are usually hidden, but u can change that from within windows explorer or My Computer, just go 2 Tools-Folder Options-2nd tab-scroll page down........However, if u have a passworded user, and at the time u installed the password, u selected windows 2 make your personal files private, and if u have a good laptop that has the Lock HDD option from BIOS with an administrative password, he probably won't be able to access your private data stored in documents and settings, just the other non-protected files, like Program Files and Windows (that's if u didn't lock your hard drive from BIOS)...............If you're clean and faithful 2 your husband don't worry..............As for internet browsing history, I personally recommend FireFox Mozilla, which is the only internet browser I know that can be setted to clean all your internet cache.....................good luck!

Yes, he can find alot of information on site you have visited by searching through the cookie directories and temporary file cache directories on the hard drive.

Sounds like you might be a little worried even though you say you are not.......

Yes.

The workaround is to cleaup the History and Temporary Internet Files (or any other offline contents) after you finish ;-)

Tools > Internet Options!
