Actually, most lizards eat the same thing. I have caught a Blue belly lizard (western fence) and I just feed them crickets.
You can tell if it has blue on the sides of its belly. Do you have a local reptile store? If you do, just ask for a dozen crickets. That would last about a week. There are different sizes of crickets. If your lizard is small, get small. If your lizard is large, get large. If your lizard is not a blue belly, try to look on the Internet to see if there is any other things you have to do for your lizard. Good luck!!

They eat insects mostly but not all lizards eat the exact same things so you should find out what kind of lizard it is. But honestly if you want whats best for the lizard i would recommend you to just let him be in your back yard.

its not good to take stray lizards out from the wild and straight into your home without having it looked at by a vet. If you want to keep it you should get it checked just in case.

don't keep it because i don't think you will like to feed it cockroaches and many other insects because they like to eat that only also if it is a stray lizard it may not be good for your health

I would let it back outside again. :-( He probably isn't very happy being cooped up. If you want a pet reptile, go to a breeder who can provide you with a captive-bred animal.
Wild-caught reptiles typically carry all sorts of nasty little infestations and such. I wouldn't want you and ur famuily to get sick.

put it back where you found it. More than likely it will die. Try feedind it crickets and mealworms. You will also need a heat lamp over top the cage.
