I'm totally clueless about VGA Card. Please help.
I'm running a game with minimum requirement of ATI X800, mine is ATI X1300, is it more advanced?
Should the game be ok played with x1300?

no everything is as simple as it looks;
most things aren't, in fact.
bad news, the X1300 is absolutely *NO* match for the X800
the ATI cards come per generation;
the one most ppl associate easily w/ ATI is the 9000 series;
after the 9000 came the 10'000, but it looked a little silly, so ATI decided to use the roman letter for 10, X.
for the current generation, eleven, they chose a twisted solution, keeping the X but adding the numeral 1.
point being that because a card's number is above another card's number doesn't automatically mean the card is better;
true within a generation (e.g. 9800 is better then a 9600, X850 is better then a X800 or a X1950 is better then a X1300.
but, from one generation to another, things get a little dicey; a X1800 is better then a X800 which is better then a 9800, but you hardly can compare X1300 with a X800 or even a 9800. the 300s (or 200s in the 9000 generation) are entry level cards whereas the 800 were, until ATI brought out the X1900, the top of the line.
furthermore, the X850, the latest evolution of the X800 series can still be bought, anywhere between two and three times the price of a x1300 (even an XT)
go to ATI's (AMD's, now) site, click on ATI Products & Tech. (drop down menu) => Desktop and then choose Real Time Demos in the left margin.
download the demo(s) for the X800 and see for yourself how a program which was showing all the features (including the raw (graphical) processing power) of the X800 isn't handled so well, by your X1300.

It's more advanced but probably slower than an X800.
The error is probably due to an issue with Direct x on your system and not the actual card.

Need more info. But basically your answering this question by playing the game. Is it smooth or choppy? Also...it's not really a VGA Card. Just for some clarity. VGA is an interface. I'm Sure you have VGA, DVI, and S-Video interfaces. Your card though would be an AGP card.

well, we need to know the mb's as well. My pc will be deilivered monday. It has a ATI 256mb X1300 pro. Your card might be the game. What is important is the mb's sometimes. That is howmuch ram it uses i believe.

You mentioned that your game runs fine until you shut it down and then things go sideways.
Make sure your computer software is up to date. Especially, check your video drivers and make sure that they are up to date as well.
You did not mention your operating system? XP? Vista?

Should be fine,
Normally in the graphics card market, the higher the number, the better the card.
