Yes
They are not too expensive but be careful where you buy them. Make sure they are a registered place otherwise they could have stolen them from the wild. This happens alot and we need to stop it. Tortoises and terrapins are so easy to catch so it is easy! DON'T LET IT HAPPEN! I hope these websites help.

When I was a little girl we used to catch terrapins for pets in the summer though ooh and if you get one if you have a dog watch the dog!

all these people r stuipd yes u can get terrapins if u want dimondbacks terrapins the ones u see in salt water. u can get them on www.kingsnake.com my father has them and there just in a fresh water tub and there fine. feed them killies and there do find if u want a more complex setup be my guest but yes u can they might be around $100 OR LESS FOR ONE NOT SURE ABOUT IT look around on the internet and ull find them.. hope this helps.

iv got a red ear slider and 2 box turtles i saved all off them from other people that were not lookin after them properly they now live a life of luxury, you would have to pay alot to get set up properly and to get a terrapin i think you need a licence now, they are hard work don't bother

yes you can,but you don't want terrapins they grow too big. i keep tropical fish as my hobby & a fish shop near me has soft shell turtles in stock & they cost £25 each or £40 for 2. i was going to get some for my tank , but i think me little lobster might try them for his dinner. they also have lobsters , topical crabs & tropical frogs , of which i have had two. p.s. the turtles live for about ten years...........hope this helps.

no after the trafficing in endangered ones in the eighties/ninties with them being released into rivers and lakes when no longer wanted they are now illegal to sell or buy! as far as i know
