There are really no symptoms when you are 19 weeks. You stomach will start to get bigger and you will start to notice stretch marks. your breast may get bigger also. If you haven't felt the baby move yet that is normal for a first time pregnancy. you should start to feel little flutters every once in a while. that is the baby. eventually you will actually feel it kicking you. you won't be able to feel the heart beat though. you can listen to it at the Dr with a doppler. baby's heartbeats are usually 150-175 beats per minute. way faster than yours. the baby is too small to be able to tell where it is right now but it is in your lower abdomen. Good luck with your pregnancy!!

Hi,
Congratulations!
Every pregnancy is different, so don't even listen to people that say "you should have felt this.... by this time" and so on. When I was around 20 weeks I felt great aside from feeling a little bit exhausted from time to time. Tiredness is one of the common symptoms. I also started to gain weight and "look pregnant". My face and my shoulders looked round (and I'm normally skinny) and my thighs had cellulite, which disappeared after I gave birth.
I think by 20 weeks you might feel some flutters if you sit in a comfy position or lay down and relax, but some women don't feel anything at this stage yet. The best thing is the ultrasound (I had my first at 20 weeks). You will see where the baby is and you'll also see and hear the heartbeat. It's the most amazing thing ever! You will not be able to hear the heartbeat at home, when you get the ultrasound done the tech will use a doppler that will make it possible for you to hear it.

Anyway there are tons of websites with lots of good info. Do a search on pregnancy and you will see. (Try this one for example: http://www.childbirthconnection.org/article.asp?ck=10240&ClickedLink=343&area=27)
Good luck!

You should start to feel your baby's movements around 18-20 weeks. The movement feels like a little tingling in your stomach when you first start to feel it but as you get farther along it will start to feel like a kick or punch. You can find your baby by feeling around the areas of your stomach that your baby normally likes to lay. Push that spot very lightly and if the baby is there s/he will push back. As for feeling the baby heartbeat, if it feels really strong and steady then it is possible that it is the baby's but if it feels faint then it is probably yours. Others on this site say that you cannot feel your baby heartbeat but I think that you can because when I was pregnant I felt my baby's heartbeat. Congrats on the new baby.

You should have felt him or her move by now. It feels like a flutter or gas. She or he might even be kicking by now and you cant mistake that for anything else in my opinion. I doubt you yourself can feel the baby's hearbeat without one of those things they use at the OBGYN's office. The baby is all over your tummy at this point. Later, like 30 or so weeks youll actually see him or her move and know more accurately.

Please get the book What To Expect When You're Expecting. It has a day-by-day guide that will answer all your questions.

Get it from the library or look for a free copy on Craigslist.org if you can't afford to buy it.
