A Betta is the easiest fish to take care of but even they need a filter and heater and a reasonable sized aquarium to live long healthy lives.

Usually bigger fish last longer. Fish also seem more happy with a partner. Make sure u get a tank that filters oxygen too! It's not expensive at all if you want it to live long!
