the bakeries and toaster manufacturer are in collaboration with each other. the toaster burns your bread so you have to buy more bread.

This is because toasters are designed to toast more things than just toast. The high setting may be appropriate for Pop Tarts, for instance. I use the high setting for bagels which take longer to toast than ordinary bread.
What I'd really like to do is find a toaster that works longer than 2 years.

All settings on my toaster do that. I just don't eat toast anymore. I could get a new toaster I suppose. Have a Good One !

Some people like toast that way! Their are other things you cook in a toaster also that require that setting! Try it out.

One time this a little girl drank poison which made her go sick. We made her eat burnt toast which made her feel better cuz it made her throw up all of the poison. Why my aunt had that poison near her daughter, I'll never know. O.O

I find that after repeated use the crumbs left on the bottom are the culprits that cause the burning. Clean out the crumbs and see if that helps.
