Hi, my names Jazmine. I'm a 15 year old female, 5'5, and i weight 129 pounds. I used to weight 125 last summer, so i only gained about 4 pounds from then til now. I am in the modeling industry, and my agent told me that i need to lose some weight. I thought "Sure no problem, how much?" and she said 30 pounds! I have an audition at the end of april, how can i possibly lose weight by the end of april? Can somebody PLEASE tell me how, also, can you tell me if u think i need to lose weight in the first place? My mother was outrageous when she heard this and said not to listen to my agent, but i really want the job..OPINIONS please?

I honestly think you aren't cut out for modeling, only 2% of women in the world really are..kick that agent to the curb, and get your education.

I think telling someone to lose 30 lbs in a month is outrageous! Even celebrities wouldnt do that!
My advice is, if you really want to do it, you have to reason with your agent. 15 pounds maybe is reasonably, but 30 pounds!!woosh!
I am sure that if you really want to do it, that you would get much better deals than this. Listen to your mother! Dont lose 30 pounds.
Losing that much weight could also seriously affect your health on the long run. If youre thinking of this as an career. Dont go with agencies that would want to kill you!Hope that helped :)

Ur agent is an a$$hole. 30 lbs cannot be done without putting your health at serious risk. 10 lbs should be plenty; that would be mostly water weight coming off. The quickest, healthiest way to lose? Run & jog like crazy. You'll start seeing the pounds shed off. Good luck! Oh, and get another agent.

I used to want to be a model, so I can kind of understand you wanting to do that.
HOWEVER, it is not worth it if you have to conform to those kind of standards!!! I can't imagine that you even have enough on you to lose 30 pounds. Not to mention the health issues. I have known too many people who ended up with anorexia or bulimia trying to do something that was only for the moment, but ended up messing them up for the rest of their lives.
When you are young, you think you are invincible and that you can always do better later. Well, maybe, but from my own experience and those of several people that I know, it doesn't work that way.
Be happy with who you are and if they don't want you the way you are, it isn't worth it. You are young yet, find another career plan. You'll thank me in 20 years!

I would only lose atleast 15lbs, 30 is crazy, plus you only are 5'5" by only losing half it'll look like you lost more. The modeling world is cut throat if you want to pursue it you'll have to be a be what they are looking for, it's up to you what you want to do but stay healthy doing it. In my opinion i would do something else, by the time your 29 you'll have to retire.

You yourself think its ridiculous. Why are you subjecting youself to this kind of torment dear? Love yourself, love your body. Women die every year trying to be thin, models included. Its because of the industry demands and ppl like your agent. I agree with your mom.

Think about this. 5'5" and your agent wants you to weigh 99 ?????? I think you should find another agent and fast. You would be in danger territory. Do you want to throw up everything you eat something, probably become anorexic and bye bye to your dream of a modeling career. And maybe worse. Yes it can happen to you. Please listen to your mom. Please.

My opinion - HEALTH first. I do not care about skinny models - though I understand the pressure from your agent asking you to be sickly thin.
