If it was important for my grade, I would do as much as I could myself then show it to them. If not I would just follow the group.

You might be right in analyzing the project; you might be wrong; you might be partly right or partly wrong. If you have REALLY listened and tried to see it from the other perspective(s), and you are sure you understand it better, calmly and respectfully explain to the group. LISTEN to any questions or objections without defensiveness. If you cannot find agreement together, go to whomever assigned the project (teacher, project manager), preferrably with the group or at least with threir knowledge, and ask for clarification of the project and/or roles. Don't complain or whine; just be calm and clear.
Quite possibly part of the assignment is TO WORK TOGETHER. So asking to be reassigned to another group, or to do the work on one's own, is a LAST resort, a poor option, and a bit of a failure for you, the group, and the teacher/project manager.
Humility in all efforts, and a sincere effort to be openminded, serves all best.

though you may think youre going in the 'right' direction and everyone else is wrong is pretty slim. i highly doubt youre that smart.
but let's say i won the lottery for the sixth time in a row and youre right in saying that youre going in the right direction.
what i would do is do the entire project myself, exclude everyone else from 'getting it right' and on the due date, present it to the manager (or whoever grill crew chief in your case most likely) and show the 'correct' work you have done.
everyone gets screwed over, you get all the credit and, hey, you might get a 15 cent an hour raise.
if it is a school project...you'll find out (whether the right way or the hard way) that school by in itself leads to nothing. it's not even what you do with it after...it's just using those degrees (if youre already a genius like me) to irrefutably make others look like morons!!! and how easy it is to do that!

Step back and allow the others to deal with the project themselves.
