You should be taking your sugars 2 hours after each meal. And yes it will get worse as the pregnancy progresses.. it is normal though because of the hormones in our body.
I am gestational diabetic since I was 8 wks along.. so I know what it is like. It totally stinks.
Watch your carbs!!! Do not drink any fruit juices or eat fruit. This is not good for us at all. Make sure you are watching the time you start to eat.. from the 1st bite then 2 hours take your sugar. Each meal you should not be eating more than 45 carbs. A slice of bread is just about 1 unit of carb, meat is very low carb, condiments are low carb, 1 cup of milk is almost one unit of carb. 15mg equals one unit. The doctor should set you up with a dietitian and they should monitor you often. Drink tons of water.. no more sodas they have to much carbs in them. One coke can make the same amount of carbs as one full size meal. I am surprised the doctor hasn't given you some papers to look over. But it can be managed if you watch what you eat.. if you don't the baby can grow very rapidly and this can cause problems. My son is already 7 lbs and I am only 35 wks along almost 36 wks. They are talking about inducing me next week b/c my fluid levels are dropping and he is running out of room. So good luck with this and I hope all works out well.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.
I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I cannot really tell you a lot about gestional diabetes but I can tell you about diabetes. I am a diabetic and when I am pregnant my sugar be high but it gets better as the pregnancy progresses. My sugar gets so good that the doctors take me off my insulin until my baby is born. It's nothing to really worry yourself about because the more you worry and stress about it the higher your sugar is going to go. So continue with your dieting regimen and keep your doctor appointments and you and your baby will be fine. Congratulations on your new baby, good luck and I will keep in my prayers.

I had gestational diabetes with my 2nd child and it wasn't all that bad. You just have to watch the amount of carbs you intake. and try to exercise a little. My daughter weighed 10lbs and had to be in the NICU for 3 days due to low blood sugar. I am now 20 weeks preg with my 3rd and I can tell that I am getting it again. It sucks but there is nothing I can do about it. Good luck to you and just try to eat more protein.

My sister had gestational diabetes a few months ago when she was preggo.
Do what the doc tells you and you'll be just fine. Just watch your diet for a few months. After the baby gets born you can go back to your normal foods.
My sis had a healthy baby. Both mom and baby....and dad..are healthy.

I had this when I was pregnant. You will have it untill you deliver. If you monitor and eat right you should be able to control it. As soon as you have the baby it will go away. I had to go to a nutritionist that put me on a special diet. Good luck.
