He got a lot of money out of it so he wasn't screwed. He just never got to live up to his potential like Joey Harrington. Hopefully he'll go to another team and get another shot because I think he has a lot of talent but isnt the kind of player who can carry a team because he starts forcing too many throws. He needs to go to a team where he isnt the focus so he doesnt need to worry about the media either. I think Schuab will suck in Texas too because hes not much if any of an upgrade and he moves slower. Carrs problem was getting sacked so many times and withe Ahmed Green fumbling all the time the Texans will do even worse. It will be sad to see another talented qb (Schaub) have his career ruined by a horrible team.

I love football and I really thought David Carr had star written all over him. Statistically he was very good considering the lack of talent around him. I think, with the right team, he can still be a star. He did the best he could do considering what was around him so yes he kind of got screwed. That's the problem with the expansion teams in pro sports. There is not enough true talent around to keep adding teams.

yes i beleived he was screwed. the worst teams get the best players and they turn them into straight up losers. David Carr has been sacked 249 times in 5 seasons, thats 50 200 pound players and up wrapping you up and slamming you on the ground. hes a tough guy, and hes huge hes six three 230 pounds, so he can take a hit. i would say he needs some real talent and simply a good line that wont make him feel rushed and timid. thats why i feel he hasnt had much success
maybe matt schuab will perform better, but i highly doubt it. im going to keep an eye on him (giggles). but anyways i wish the best for the fellow. the texans did him a favor for releasing him through all of that pain. we will see how it goes in the 08

No he wasn't screwed, that's just how the draft works. Maybe he should have whined like Eli "small brother but Big Baby" Manning and got traded to another team. Yeah he did get a raw deal. Schaub will get a raw deal as well if the Texans don't get an O line.

Not screwed just bad timing. We've seen it happen many times to young QBs. I think Carr, in the right system and with the right talent around him could be very successful. Will remain to be seen if he finds that right situation.

YEAH he was screwed not b-cuz he was drafted by the texans but b-cuz the texans did not build an o-line around him. he had decent rec's but had no time to throw. hopefully he goes to minnesota at least he would have time to throw. now if they catch it that's the question.

No we were screwed then and last yr. The money the league gave him and he did not produce.
And
The evident greatest 2 passes they went on when they let Reggie Bush and Vince Young go to another team.
Shame on their face is pure victory to me. Honestly, did you think that they were going to keep them another yr. since Bush and Young showed them up last season with the talent the showed last yr here.
