We did something similar last year when we went to Jamaica and had the same concern of how to actually give the items we brought. We asked the resort we were at and they had someone who actually came by on a regular basis to collect such items. Visitors to Jamaica often do what you are doing and the resorts are set up to handle anything you want to donate.
I often go to TripAdvisor.com and in the Jamaica section this is a common thread in the "forums" section. You can go there and read the post and ask your questions. One guy who frequents that section goes by the name Jamaica Steve. He is in contact with a school for the blind (I think) and he can work with you on where to give. Thanks so much for your thoughtful donations to a country in dire poverty.

I read on another forum that Blossom Gardens Orphanage in Negril and a priest at a Catholic Church on Manley Blvd is a good place for donations. Don't leave them at your hotel, the children will not get your donation.
Good Luck and what you are doing is very nice.

Last time I went I gathered up a bunch of soccer uniforms, soccer cleats, ect..and took the gear up into the hills of Nine Miles. The kids loved the soccer gear, and my son who was 11 at the time spent the afternoon playing soccer with some local kids. The best experience ever! Take the goods you have to a school yourself and spend the day with the kids.

hard cove book pencil,pens,
they have children from new born to eighteen years old, keep up the good work, And Please don't listen to people and their rumors about Jamaica, when you get here you will be the judge.

jamaica is someplace where you dont want to be traveling off the resorts,so i wouldnt suggest dropping them anywhere.it can be very rough just minutes from your hotel and in a foreign country you just dont risk it.can you ups them somewhere instead?
