The last politician in the mold of the modern Dem would be Carter.
A weak-willed appeaser who never met a dictator he didn't bow to and never encountered a confrontation he didn't hide from.
He is representitive of what that party has morphed into.
In the old days, Democrats stood for civil rights, the working man and the well-being of the USA.
Now they are neo-socialists who demean our country at every turn and seem to care more for demeaning and defaming their opponents regardless of the cost to the country in the interest of altering our society into a secular progressive mecca run by athiests and apologists for all manner of evil.
The party of JFK died shortly after he did.
Jack and Bobby Kennedy would both be Republicans today.

I can't say who, but I can tell you it was pre-Jimmy Carter. He gave us record high gas prices, interest rates so high no one could afford a home, and stripped funding from the military until a bunch of scum in "Man-Dresses" could hold our country hostage. Personally, I am a conservative. I believe the Democrats are basically all about taking money from working people and giving it to people who do not work. Republicans take money from working people and give it to big business through tax breaks. Of the two I will take the latter, at least business will give us working people some jobs, people that will not work only increase our crime rate, our health care costs, and drag down our society in general.

Tough one. George McGovern, Mike Dukakis and Fritz Mondale were three of the greatest train wrecks of all time, but even Massachusetts voted for Reagan over Carter (and lets face it, a fire hydrant could have beaten Ford)
