Hmmm. I guess we could suck more than 78 wins. If that's the case though who cares? 78 or 30 wins both are staying home in the fall. If we don't make the playoffs the only thing that matters is if we are setting ourselves up for years to come. Personally I'll take a couple years of backsliding if it will eventually lead the M's back to late 90's and early 00' form. That being said I believe they will actually play better this year. Whether or not that shows up in the W colum I don't know but like I said no playoffs= don't care! We do have a young team, and that's good. I think their going in the right direction.

Weaver is one of baseballs great mystery's. He can go out and have an 8 era for a season then come back next year and be a solid 3 era pitcher. If you look at him with the Tigers back in the day he was good, Yankees he sucked, angels he sucked and with the Cardinals in the play-offs he was great again.... Who knows what pitcher the Mariners will get out of Weaver.... I think the AL West is the worst division in MLB so that gives the Mariners a better shot..... Still dont think they will win but it helps that the AL West didn't do much this year..... I pick Texas to win the division....

Suck more this year than last? Doubtful - that would be difficult to do. Beltre and Sexson can't be as bad as they were for the 1st 1/2-2/3 of the season. Fat Felix came in in shape. Weaver is no worse than some of the people they threw out there last year. As long as Putz's elbow holds together, the young MI's and their OF play near what they did last year, they will add a few W's, but won't win their division... even though it is a weak one.

they're in basic terms 3.5 video games at the back of LAA. Wow! to respond to your question, no. i do no longer think of any communities "suck." MLB gamers do no longer suck. for this reason i do unlike grievance of communities and gamers. confident, each so often i'm getting annoyed at under appearing gamers. i like to think of an era with communities like the Mariners and Astros being ideal-tier, and the Yankees and different ideal-tier communities falling to the backside of the standings. i does no longer % to work out my Tigers fall, in spite of the indisputable fact that! Seattle remains no longer yet a great ballclub, yet have lots of expertise. they have youthful teenagers like Smoak, Liddi, Ackley, Montero, Hultzen, Martinez, Wells, Furbush and Ruffin (the final 4 have been won interior the Fister deal final 365 days). Seattle is immediately transforming into a good ballclub.

I think they COULD suprise people. Not that they will but that they could. They signed guys to low contracts that COULD have high upsides like Weaver, Guillen, Vidro. I'm not saying the're going to the series but they were 78-86 last year so if we get above .500 I'll call it a success. They got some young talent that will continue to improve.

It hurts me to say this, because I'm an M's fan...but I think we do suck more than last year. First of all, Ibanez is a year older, so is Ichiro, we don't have Soriano anymore, we have a DH in Vidro, whose never played in the AL, we have Guillen, who is liable to spontaneously combust, we have batista, weaver, Ho ramirez, and washburn as 4/5 of our rotation. Other than that...I think we'll be fine...

I agree. When they signed Jeff Weaver, they signed their own death warrant.
