How do I take care of any scratches or stains in my cream colored porcelain sink?

I have a rack to raise the dishes off the bottom. But how can I keep it looking shiny when the sink is cleaned out.

Or how do I get out a rust stain or any scratches should they occur. It's a newish kitchen. Thanks!

if the sink is still in good condition with no scratches or rust. It's probably not porcelin. I'd guess it is an enameled steel or cast iron sink. Try sticking a magnet to it. Tap on it, does it make a sharp sound or more like a dull thud. A sharp sound would be enameled steel. Dull thud would be cast iron. It may even be acrylic/swanstone. In any case, keep it clean, ie: rinse it out after use. Clean it regularly with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser. Scratches are hard to remove if not impossible from an enameled sink.

It's basically the same type of finish they put on an appliance, a coat of car wax every 3 - 6 months will help protect it. Be careful with metal or heavy utensils. Rust stains shouldn't occur unless the finish is damaged, that would expose the metal to water.
