There are only two sides in the Iraq War debate. Us and them. With no real ideas of their own why are they so against the President, the pentagon, the Iraqi government and people? 2008 is why.

There is more at stake in Iraq and the middle east than ever before. Our credibility, our word, our honor, our children's future.

Like it or not. Those are facts and they are undisputed.

Uh, what facts? The facts are, Bush Senior made a mess in Somalia, he didn't see any point in taking out Sadam Hussein, and now his idiot son is trying to clean up.

Bush Jr is the worst Republican president since, probably since Grant (and at least since the Great Depression). He's hell bent on destroying America for political gain.

The top issues of the day should be non-issues.

1) What's up with "intelligent design"... it sounds like an internet company. Who cares how the world started, I don't. In school I thought Dinosaurs and cave men were cool, I didn't learn about no Darwin (if the repubs want to complain about the schools, they should start with morality and standards, not evolution). Teach kids to read and write first, when they can spell Evolution and Intelligent Design, then maybe we can debate the issue.

2) what's the big idea with the New American Colonialism? It's just like the USSR all over again. Stalin claimed to be spreading democracy too. And just look at Bush's biggest allies. Creeps like Blair... which brings me to the next issue...

Oh, and as far as Israel goes, the New Testament says that God can make children of Abraham out of stones... Israel does not mean the Jews, and even if it does, it doesn't mean a secular racialist state but it means a religion (and most Israelis I know are aethiest). We're in that war out of Israel worship (a form of idolatry, but Israel can defend itself.

3) What on earth are same sex unions about? It sound like an old gentlemen's club in the days before women's lib. Only a small minority of Democrats support it, I think if Democrats dropped this issue completely we could win in 2008.

4) and Stem Cell research, how is that about religion? Since when does the government do biological research? I thought they were supposed to defend us against invaders, and maybe send men to the moon, not play with aborted fetuses. Another stupid issue my party (the Democrats) have taken up just because Bush supports the other side. I think that Italian lady is even dumber than W.

5) The environment. Do the Republicans deny that Chernobyl ever happened? Or that London Smog killed people in the 1950s? Or that Stalin completely destroyed the soil in the areas around Armenia? Or that America had a Dust Bowl? Humans do have the power to make parts of the planet uninhabitable, history has proved this (and it's usually been socialists who've done it). I don't see what Bush has to gain by pretending that God made everything on earth indestructable (if that is his warped logic).

Both parties are stupid. I think the twenty first century will be remembered as the Century of American Stupidity (if we survive through it).

Okay, so of your "undisputed facts" (that our credibility, our word, our honor, and our children's future are at stake) the only one of the four that hasn't been utterly butchered and wrecked by Bush's unprovoked invasion of Iraq is the last.

Our credibility is shot. We haven't done what we said we'd do in Iraq, which was establish an inclusive secular democracy. No, Islamic law is now enshrined as the highest source of authority by none other than the new Iraqi constitution.

Our word is shot. We assured the world that we were going in to stabilize Iraq and rid it of prohibited WMD and Saddamn's regime. The best we could manage was getting rid of Saddamn, at a hellish cost to Iraq's national security and stability. Oh well.

Our honor is shot, too. There have been so many mistakes and massacres that 75% of Iraqis want us out, and over half feel it is justifiable to use force against Ammerican troops.

The only hope we have left is our children's future. Are you ready to throw that down the toilet as well in the misguided belief that it will rescue the other three?

I'm not.

hahah laughable! This is what happens when you don't lop side the government in conservative republicans like it was for the past six years... You actually get people who will stand up against a dictator and a corrupt government.. Now it's called a witch hunt? hahaha you people are so removed from what is really happening! Hey conservatives.... How bout a game of "Follow the Leader"??? but you added an extra twist.. you wear blind folds!

Watch the thumbs down with no response.. They are watching and protecting their own stupidity!

KenS... Your answer was pathetic! I don't think I need to explain why... go back to your fox news and try and find some other names to call someone who is simply trying to correct the corruption this government has been building for the last 6 years.. I believe it used to be the government was FOR the People BY the people.. Not FOR the President BY the President... Take that blind fold off and join a government of Democracy! I thought we were suppose to be a Democracy.. hmmmmmmm has Bush changed that definition too???

What the heck are you even talking about? Have you been reading the newspaper upside down again? Now liberals are against the Iraqi government...hmmm. I must have been left out of that memo. Since we are generlizing everything here, I thought it was the conservatives who were hell bent on just blowing stuff up for their own gain and calling it 'fixing' things.

Our credibility is pretty much shot at this point, because our president everything that the rest of the world thinks we stand for is a joke. How can we possibly fix another entire country if we can't even get our own working together?

Like it or not, THEY ARE DISPUTED. Not ony have your fallen for the retoric of both sides, you have obviously ot done any research.

1. Our war in Iraq was founded upon lies from the Bush camp.

2. Some "liberals" depperately want to improve america and get us out of a very dangerous situation.

3. The Iraqi people do not want the U.S. to dictate how they should govern their country and lives.

4. The war in Afganistan is and was about protecting us fom terrorists. The war in Iraq had nothing to do wit terrorism.

Get off your lazy *** and do some real research.

"There are only two sides in the Iraq War debate. Us and them."

That is a very extreme statement.

Keep in mind that extreme ideologies are a large part of the "official" reason we are involved in this war to being with.

And you're correct-- there is a LOT more at stake...

It would also seem that there is a LOT MORE at stake than you have taken the time to look into.

A definition of a " Liberal " is one that was taught by a " Liberal" teacher, but somewhere down the line, they forgot to make their own thought pattern. When I was a child, I thought like a child, but, as I got older, I put away childish things !! Personally, I out-grew the taste for " Kool-Aid " around 14 somewhere. God Bless America !!

By your question you are obviously a Republican. I, and many many others in this country, see it much differently. Looks clear to us that the Democrats are indeed hell bent but not to destroy America but to save it from this group of lunatic fringe called the Bush administration. I think you'd be hard pressed to find one thing this group of Republican fanatics has touched that hasn't turned to crap. The November elections were a saving grace for America, finally leaders with the clout and the knowledge to turn the Republican mess around.

Wow. What a massively simple view of the world you have.

Do you even realize that the Shiite-Sunni conflict goes back hundreds of years before the US even existed?

Or that the US supported and armed Saddam, then decades later decided we no longer liked him?

As far as the "war on terror", that has nothing to do with Iraq.
While all our troops and resources are there, doing nothing more than babysitting a country during their civil war, those troops are unable to respond to actual threats across the rest of the world.

Do you really believe that every terrorist in the world is in Iraq? If not, then fighting in Iraq has no effect on the rest of the terrorists anywhere else in the world.

You said it yourself political gain , the liberals are much like the useless UN , they change with the tide , the libs are driven by the far left like move on .org and Soros and his crazy group but even with all his money could`nt buy a guy to make it to the WhiteHouse.
If the liberals had half as much hatred towards the terrorists as they do towards Bush maybe things can get done some things spoken by the Liberals sound just like those crazy terrorists almost word for word.
