Hey, I have a paper due soon and I can't come up with a thesis.

Can anyone help me with ideas?

(and I'm in High School AP Lit, just so you know what level we're dealing with)

FYI, I DID read the book. My brain is just on the fritz and I can't think of anything that I'd like to write about.

Maybe you could write a paper how how the book was banned from high schools and libraries due to the objectionable language and subject matter used, even though both of these elements were and are essential to the power of the novel.
Challenged in Goffstown, N.H. (1978); Elmwood Park, N.J. (1978) due to "objectionable" language; and North Adams, Mass. (1981) due to the book's "violence, sex, and profanity." Challenged at the Berrian Springs, Mich. High School in classrooms and libraries (1988) because the novel is "vulgar, profane, and sexually explicit.".......

If you read the book and can't find the thesis I'd suggest refreshing your memory by reading through other web pages that discuss the book.

Or how about:
Why Wright chose to make Bigger Thomas such a horrible character. What would be the difference if Bigger had been a more sympathetic character?

It's years since I read it, but how about something about the self being shaped and defined through one's reaction to hardships?

Or "Society and Identity"?
