I think it's Led. its written below the staff in my piano book on almost all the songs evey measure or everyother measure or so...im not sure. ive seen it before occasionally, but not as often as this. and its written all curly and fancy looking. what is it? what's it mean?

i asked my bro, and he said it was Ped., meaning Pedal. but my new question is...what is the star lookin thing with it? its like *, but its bigger and has 8 spokes. its even with the Ped., and my bro said he thought it was no pedal. but idk. if u can answer, ill give u 10 pts!

I think your on a roll. I think they are called Ledger lines if I'm not mistaken. Ledger lines are notes written off of the immediate staff lines.
