Bastista: just waiting in the wings to destroy
people on Smackdown but he can’t because the WWE has forgotten the simple art
of gimmick creation. Check out WWE.com for a little interview segment they did
with Batista where they talked about bringing him into the company under a
Fight Club gimmick but scrapped the idea moments later. Why????? Was D-Von’s
altar boy angle just too good of an opportunity to pass up? Hate Vince Russo
all you want but at least VR would have found a controversial or borderline
perverse gimmick to give Batista by now. As it stands today he comes down to
ringside with boring trunks and even more lame entrance music. Batista is going
nowhere fast unless someone takes pity on him and spends at least five minutes
developing his actual character. Calling him a future main-eventer may be a bit
of a stretch but he’s definitely someone who could bust some heads and make
an impact with a little seasoning.

Batista has definetly lost his edge since returning from injury. He is supposed to be best friends with Paul Levesq (HHH) so theres a good chance he will defeat the Undertaker & thats his market right there. Calloway is rumoured the be leaving after the next Wretlemania so after all he's done he should be allowed to retire with the belt with a defeat of Batista at the next one and although Vince is against the WWE championship being retired there is no one person that deserves it more than The Undertaker.

I don't think Batista's lost marketability. I mean, I still see little kids wearing Batista shirts and holding up signs. He still puts butts in seats, t-shirts on backs, and action figures in toy shelves. I do agree that he's lost intensity in the ring, and a lot of bulk as well. Undertaker's already bankable, champion or not, he's still a hot commodity, so I don't think there will be a significant spike in ratings, merchandising, or attendance when he wins the title at mania

Batista is marketable in the WWE. He is doing stuff other's want to do like appearing Extreme home makeover w/ Cena & ashley. Doing Charity work. Helping other Flippino and Greek children out and he has his own charity. Does Taker have any of that NOPE. He also works with the WWE for there fundraisers.

Yeah batista is no longer marketable in the wwe just like cena isn't either and if hbk and undertaker had the championships then they would carry the comapany better

it's not that batista isn't as good anymore he just needs to catch up on things and the undertaker has been carrying the company very well for the past 15 years on his wrestlemania streak, and i know he's gonna win i can feel it and he deserves to title he hasn't gotten the title in the past 10 years so don't you thik we should cut him some slack? i'm not trying to be mean or anything i'm just giving you my opinion

i'll admit batista is strong, but he is not strong enough to defeat a legend. The dead mans record will grow to 15-0
