If it's just a joke it's perfectly okay - which it sounds like it is to you and your friends. My friends and I used to do that in junior high and high school just to be silly. We obviously knew they weren't really there, but would make up stupid stories about them usually involving an inside joke. It was a way for us to stay connected when our schedules got busy - we could leave a note in a locker or a message on the phone about the adventures of Bob. Don't worry about it - don't let people tell you otherwise.

well, It has been said that young people especially real young children can see and hear spirits. do you actually hear and acknowledge these friends.. or is like an instinct to were you could be hearing and speaking to a spirit guide. I am told we all have these entities that guide us. I don't think there is any problem with imaginary friends as long as your not harming anyone. if people makes fun of you or said anything negative. just remember who are they to judge your personality.. I have a 5 year old that has imaginary friends and I embrace that. hey he's not loosing touch with reality or wanting to play with other kids. no harm. sometimes we all need to get in touch with our child like ways to create happiness. the ones who don't every now and then be a kid are the ones who are missing out. children are usually the happiest out of any human. so why not. I know I have my childish ways and my son loves it.

Well I'm in 8th grade too and I don't have any imaginary friends..and neither do my friends.
But I guess it's OK, you know? I mean, there's no law or certain rule that says in eighth grade you can't do this and you can't do that.
If you're pretty comfortable with it and so are your friends then I don't really see the problem with it.

You don't need imaginary friends. Get away from the ones that have them. You need to talk to your parents.
