Hi Eremles!
Many women commonly use black cohosh for hot flashes, but it is also used to relieve night sweats, menstrual problems, and mild mood changes. This herb is sold in the U. S. as a dietary supplement. Just why it is so effective is not understood completely by researchers.

Black cohosh for hot flashes is a treatment that works very well for the majority of women suffering menopausal symptoms. It relieves most symptoms, while causing few - if any - side effects. If you are suffering from menopausal hell, it is well worth trying! Look article: http://www.askedweb.com/askedweb/What_Is_The_Truth_About_Black_Cohosh_For_Hot_Flashes/

I took it to help with menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, night sweats, irritability. Yes, it helps alot! I use Estroven, it is a combination of black cohosh and other herbs that also help with hormone fluctuation. I've taken it daily for ten years, I treat it as my morning vitamin.

It didn't work for me - I took it for mild depression.
I think it's one of those herbs that may work for some people and won't for others. I was unlucky enough that it didn't change anything for me.
Good luck if you do end up trying it - I hope it works!
