my memory sucks, i forget things often. forgiveness is harder to come by, because though i may not remember what you did, the fact that you did something stays with me. but i eventually get over everything.

Forgiveness can be a very difficult thing for many people the general thought seems to be...if I forgive this person, I'm saying that it's ok that he/she did whatever he/she did. But that's not the case at all. Forgiveness doesn't really do anything to or for the person you forgive. Many times they don't even know it, and lots wouldn't care either way. No. The idea of forgiveness is to give yourself peace of mind. As long as you harbor a grudge, that person is really controlling you. If you forgive them, then that burden is lifted off you. It's like saying....ok you did it to me but I've learned a lesson and I'll be much more careful from here on. And forgiving and forgetting go hand in hand. That's why people have such a hard time forgiving. It's the forgetting that's so hard. But you can do it. I'm not talking about the kind of forgetting that wipes the event totally out of your mind forever, but the kind that just puts it behind you and doesn't eat you alive for the rest of your life. Sure you're going to remember it, it's called a lesson in life. Just don't dwell on it daily. And yes it's pretty easy for me to forgive, because I don't want it controlling my life. I have much better things to do. I've already forgiven the A.H. who said he was thinking of kickin his wife out because she was pregnant and no longer sexy, hot or attractive. But I did really go off on him. Enough said. Sorry to rattle on so much.
