I'm afraid not, you've got to be extra careful with fantails,
lots of fish like to nibble at their tails & fins, & the red fin sharks your describing, I've kept before, & they do dent to nibble at other fish even without these long flowing tails...shouting "nibble me" Nibblle me",
so NO, not if yu want these fish to survive long

Hi the black shark with red tail and fins is called a ruby shark, the other with just a red tail and black fins are red tailed sharks. Ruby sharks are quite aggressive and territorial, i wouldnt suggest keeping it with guppies as they will more than likely be attacked! ruby sharks are quite hard to mix, however do a lot of research and also get fish the same size, However do your research first. Just google.

Hope this helps

The short answer to this is no.Red tailed black sharks are fin nippers, they will chase and nip your fantails until their fins become ragged, which leaves them open to infection, such as fin rot.

I have 10 guppies and one rainbow shark in a 29 gallon aquarium and have had no problem . As he gets bigger he will become Territorial and it might become a problem . It depends on the size of you tank and the size of your shark.

Your sharks sound like rainbow sharks. ( I know it's black and red)

They are very placid and won't have any problems with guppies

Mesh between them? Partially permeable membrane (viskin tubing) or just accept that you8 won't need to feed the sharks for a while!
