Certainly NOT against the law (in that you could be fined or go to jail) but McDonalds may set company policy and refuse to serve people walking or riding a bike through the drive-thru for safety/liability purposes. But bottom line is that it is their decision..

Many places, such as banks and fast food "drive thru's" won't service a pedestrian because it is dangerous for someone not in a car to be around moving vehicles.
That being said, what is a bicycle? On the street, a bicycle is considered a vehicle (not a motor vehicle), and must abide by the same laws as motor vehicles (working lights, stop at red lights/stop signs, travel in the proper direction, use signals, etc.)
However, in some areas, a bicycle on a sidewalk or other areas might not be considered a vehicle.
In any case, you are safer to lock up the bike and go inside, especially after dark when someone might not see you as well.

Not against the law, just against company policy. People wouldn't expect non-cars there and might run over you -- I assume that's the reason.
Take the bike inside with you.
(I did know someone who used to walk through a Jack in the Box drive through, when the walk-in part was closed. But they served him because they knew him.)

its a drive through! The spotty useless things gossiping at the window havent got a clue as the drive through area is on macdonalds owned or rented property .Unless stated otherwise by company policy there shouldnt be a problem about taking your bike through it.

It's not against government law, of course. However, it may be against McDonald's company policy. Personally, I'd say go ahead anyways -- you're only helping the environment by biking instead of driving, right?
Hope this helps you!

I don't know if there's a law but every drive thru I've ever been to has a couple signs posted that they will not serve walk up or bike up customers in the drive thru

Of course, It is against the law that two immature and idiotic teenager gossip instead of work. Also, that you go to MacDonald when you can go to Wendy's and get a free nutritious bar with almonds for the original transport of the week.

Nope it's not against the law or their company policy (unless you're in america in which case your state might specify otherwise)
probably just being lazy.. who would have thought it from a couple of burger flipping teenagers?

it wont be against the law, but maccy d's may have some kind of policy that states you can't go through unless your in/on a motorised vehicle, hence it being called a 'drive' through.
But then again in this mad, mad world you could always argue that the public arent aware of this, there are no signs!!
