I have an A in the class and English is my best subject. However, I've heard the test is pretty hard. How should I study for it? Are the study books actually useful?

Hm, I found the test to be fairly easy. I was not the best in my AP LA class (I got a B) but I still got a 5 on the AP exam. I studied from the PR book, which was really helpful.

The test is pretty hard. The study books will give you a sense of what the test is looking for, and some practice exams. The best thing you can do is take the practice exams and look at the best answers. It's also important to be very well read, have a good handle on the language, and be a good analytical thinker.

The MC was really not what I thought it would be. I guess everyone had the same experience - the practce ones seem extremely hard, but I ended up skipping 8 all together, so not bad. And yeah, the essays were a gift from god, I'm glad we got relatively interesting topics and not something like "recent news reports that people prefer to wear jackets as opposed to sweaters during the winter..." All in all, I think I did well on the essays, I was just taxed a bit for time on the last one, so its not quite as good as I could have made it. Hope everyone did well!
