Why does having confidence often turn into a negative personality trait? It seems that if you recognize that you're good looking, smart etc. people automatically think of you as stuck up, especially if you are black. What's the deal?

Some people just let that be their focus, self, and it gets sickening , I don't think its wrong to recognize beauty in ones self,just don't let it be like your salvation.Ive known people to put every confidence in their looks and there is so much more to their personality than that.- I hope I expressed this right.

There is a difference in arrogance and confidence.since i'm a Christian,my confidence is in Christ,His Word tells me i can do ALL THINGS in Christ,that's confidence,putting all my confidence in Christ and letting HIM do His work thru me.Arrogance is going off on MY OWN WILL and saying to myself,I CAN DO ANYTHING,which we know is a lie because not everyone can be an astrophycist's can they? All of us have talents or at least one talent,and we're not all gifted in the same area's.

The line that gets crossed is when someone thinks that they are a better person overall because of the one trait that they are better at.

Cause there is a fine line between the two......... and most people cross over without even realizing it.
