Yes, they do. If you count a free education. I was once a NCAA hooper, and we got colthing stipends which were perfectly legally. We got like $1000 checks to buy clothes once a year. We had to turn in our reciepts and stuff. Most colleges participate in this.

No, they do not. NCAA stands for the National Collegic Athletic Accoation. Since all the students who play in the NCAA are in some College somewhere, they don't get paid. NCAA is just like High school basketball. They are not in the game for the money, they are in it to play and show people that they have talent. According to many "NCAA is one of the purest ways to play basketball because no ones in it for the money."

Players on scholarship get money for tuition, room, and board. Their travel with the team, meals, and a whole wardrobe donning their school's logos are all paid for. They're not suppose to get anything outside of that, but schools get in trouble for it all the time. Michigan's Fab Five was probably the most recently scrutinized (and had championships, tournament apperances) taken away for accepting money from booster as well as academic violations.
So legally they're not "paid" a salary, they're just given thousands of dollars worth tuition and a stipend to live off of while in school. Illegally it happens all the time.

i'm sorry however the WNBA is a company, and it purely isn't that in a position, human beings do no longer wanna watch it. The pay is proportional to how plenty money is being made with the help of the communities, purely like the NBA. I propose, it extremely is honest. the actual incontrovertible fact that the NBA has to donate money probable ability that they actually gets a commission better than they deserve. in the event that they wanna make extra money, play extra ideal or be extra unique so human beings will watch mopre. It;s that easy.

The rules say they are not to get paid; however, there are some players who accept benefits from teachers, boosters, etc. They are breaking the rules, but it's nearly impossible to catch them. Even though not everyone takesmoney and benefits, it's impossible to tell how many student-athletes have actually gotten money or benefits. The answer to your question is that they shouldn't but there are some that take benefits behind the scenes.
