No, Chivalry is not dead.....yet. However, II believe it is in a very deep coma. Keep doing what you think is right. Help is always appreciated. If someone tells you people don't do that anymore, tell them " People should " . Thank you for being helpful and holdingthe door for me... I appreciate it. Your actions keep the world friendly.

It's not dead, but I think it does depend on where your living. I'm from Texas so how you act is the norm for guys, but I've noticed since Ive come farther north that its not the case at all. I think it also depends on the size of the town too, its more normal in smaller towns where everyone knows each other, but mainly its geographic. When your in the south its normal, even in big cities like San Antonio, because its how people are raised and taught in school, all sports teams for guys get a long lecture from the coaches on how to treat women, act in public and about being a southern gentleman.

Chivalry is dead to the unappreciative, shallow people. Those are the ones who don't care. I always smile and thank someone when they hold the door for me. And I try to make eye contact and smile when I walk past someone. Don't let the unappreciative people dampen your spirits. Think of it as a weeding out process of trying to find out who's worth your time.
