It could be a stuck thermostat, faulty electric fan or fan switch. Dont think its head gasket. If it overheats very quickly then check out what I have said.

the cooling fan might not be working due 2 lack of circulation
it could be the propellers on the water pump (common fault)
or simply a fan sender switch on the side of the rad
to remove the switch using a 32mm socket then replace it with new
but a oil and water change is a good idea 2
good luck hope this helps

well by the sounds of things you have a blocked pipe... what you need to do is drain the oil and water, and makes sure the radiator has no blockages otherwise start saving for a new one... also check to see if the temp sending is working correctly, this regulates when the cooling fan should kick in and when it should kick out.

You should change the water and check for collapsed hoses and airlocks. Give it a flush through with rad flush to get rid of silt build up and change the oil too. Also check the fan is coming on.

Maybe the cooling fan isn't operating. Also, check coolant level and strength.
