He recently had it changed to reflect his mother's maiden name.

It really was Dominick Davis-Williams and he just dropped the Davis from his name so he could have his mother last name. He did it last season during his injury.. but then again he was injured and nobody cared about him

Why don't you search for the answer to this question that has been asked at least 5 times in 2 days? The purpose of Yahoo! Answers is not only to get your questions asked, but also to find the answers you seek using that nifty little search function.

Anyway, he had it changed to his Mother's maiden name because Davis was his brother's father's name (his step-father), and in the state where he is from, he had to take that name. However, after he's had kids now, he stated that he didn't want them to be known as something they are not, and had his name officially changed to Williams so that his children would be Williams' also, as an homage to his mother.

I can only assume that his step-father turned out to be a not-so-nice person.

He will be going to a new place after getting cut, he figured he will get a new name too.
