Buddha had his beliefs as:
Suffering is Universal
Cause of suffering is craving, or selfish desire
The cure for suffering is to rid one's self of cravings
The way to rid one's self of cravings is to follow the noble eight fold path

What is universal for you? What is the cause for it? What is the cure? What are eight ways to get rid of it?

Awareness is suffering. But the cure is not decreasing or eliminating awareness; it is accepting awareness, recognition of self and non-self, of responsibility and non responsibility, of transformation and the eternal. Eight is a beautiful number :) but I don't think it that important.

The number of sentient beings is infinite; all will be enlightened.

Most or all belief systems have both positive and negative aspects to them. Buddhism has been around a very long time and has worked very well for many people. Any particular belief can be viewed as right or wrong or good or bad depending on the person viewing it, as it applies to them. Its not a n issue of those types of things though, its just simply "Different".

What has worked very well for me is adopting numerous aspects from many beliefs and forming my own unique views and perceptions of things.

I think Buddhism is just like all the other religions in it's denial of reality. Suffering is a valuable teacher and necessary part of life. To try to rid oneself of it is to negate the whole (full) experience of life.
Every natural creature under the sun suffers in some way. Humans trying to escape the reality of our belonging to nature, not being above it, causes more suffering not less.

The mechanics (such as meditation and tantric) of Buddhism serve useful purposes to all people. however, the basics of the "religion" do not serve a useful function. Remember, even Buddha even refused to step over into Nirvanna so that he could remain on earth to teach others the way

Unconditional Love = Loving-kindness is Universal to most Buddhists. It is our Greatest Aim.

Surrender the grasping disposition
of selfishness, and you will attain to that calm state of mind which
conveys perfect peace, goodness, and wisdom."
And the Buddha breathed forth this solemn utterance:

"Do not deceive, do not despise
Each other, anywhere.
Do not be angry, and do not
Secret resentment bear;
For as a mother risks her life
And watches over her child,
So boundless be your love to all,
So tender, kind and mild.

"Yea cherish good-will right and left,
For all, both soon and late,
And with no hindrance, with no stint,
From envy free and hate;
While standing, walking, sitting down,
Forever keep in mind:
The rule of life that's always best
Is to be loving-kind.

"Gifts are great, the founding of viharas is meritorious,
meditations and religious exercises pacify the heart, comprehension
of the truth leads to Nirvana, but greater than all is loving-kindness.
As the light of the moon is sixteen times stronger than the light of
all the stars, so loving-kindness is sixteen times more efficacious in
liberating the heart than all other religious accomplishments taken
together. This state of heart is the best in the world. Let a man
remain steadfast in it while he is awake, whether he is standing,
walking, sitting, or lying down."

Everything Siddhartha Gautama taught centered around Loving-kindness.

Buddhism is a lifestyle, like any other set of religious practices or philosophy. I choose to make my own destiny. It's probably best that by default everyone else does that as well.
